SECTION III: The Genomic Record of Earth's Early Biosphere
We will continue analyses of protein and DNA sequences of key organisms, especially geologically significant microbial lineages, to better understand their relationships, times of origin, and history of lateral gene transfers. We will also strive to improve methods of analysis and integration of genomic data with the fossil record, biomarkers, and other aspects of biosphere history.
