Titan Atmospheric Chemistry Studies

Titan and the Cassini Huygens Mission

The Cassini-Huygens program is a joint NASA/ESA mission to study Saturn, its rings, environment, origins, and satellites – particularly the largest, Titan. The Cassini spacecraft is a complex JPL/NASA-built orbiter, which has carried with it the Huygens spacecraft, an ESA-built Titan atmospheric probe. On Jan. 14, the Huygens Probe is scheduled to descend through the atmosphere of Saturn's largest moon Titan. NASA's Cassini orbiter will be in position to collect data from the probe's descent.
